Eldfast Chimney Lining Training
Competent Persons Scheme
Eldfast is applied via a process called slide casting. This method requires experience and skill to apply correctly. Before anyone can install Eldfast Ceramic Chimney Lining System they must go through our competent person training Scheme. Training is carried out on properties in your area with our engineers working with you.
By working on chimneys in your area we can train you using day to day solutions and methods that you will encounter. Typically we will carry out between 3-5 training jobs with you prior to signing you off as a registered installer.
Initially our engineers will carry out the majority of the work with you assisting so that you can observe the process. As the training progresses we reduce our own input until we are observing your process to ensure the quality standards are achieved.
As part of the training and our obligations as we are overseen by HETAS , contractors must be reassessed every three years or should they not have ordered material for 12 months or more to maintain their certificate of competence.
The cost of reassessments is £250+vat (plus travel and expenses where necessary).
If you would like to sign up for training please click on the link below and one of our team will be in touch to talk you through the process.
Open Day Events
Each year we aim to have an open day where new and old contractors can attend and refresh their knowledge of Eldfast Installations and the material. We will provide any updates and there is an open forum of discussion allowing questions to be fielded and answered by experienced engineers.
The day schedule is typically as follows:
9:30am Meet and greet with refreshments.
10:00am Practical demonstrations lining one or both (time dependent) of a 9" x 9" Brick chimney and 71/4" Clay Liners. You will be given an opportunity to get involved and get a feel for the system as well.
1:00 Pm Networking Lunch with Sandwiches and Drinks.
2:00 Pm Eldfast Sales & Marketing guidance including SEO and website advice.
3:00 Pm Questions time
3:30 Pm Training day End - Packs handed out to all attendees.
The course does not attribute to the 3 yearly assessments of our existing contractors as this must be carried out on site. The date is organised dependent on interest level and if numbers are high enough is carried over to multiple days to keep the groups small enough to work with.
If you are interested in attending our open days please click on the link below and pass on your details. Our team will then be in touch once a date has been organised.
If you are looking to get started quicker please talk to our team about our standard training scheme.
